Spencer Knight stopped 25 shots to anchor a 2-1 victory for the Chicago Blackhawks over the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday night. The win halted a three-game losing streak for Chicago, which now holds a 3-4-0 record during a seven-game homestand. Wyatt Kaiser, playing the first period with a double-minor penalty against Los Angeles, provided the decisive strike.

The game began with Los Angeles establishing an early lead. Jared Wright's shot slipped past Knight, allowing Samuel Helenius to tap the puck in at 2:31 of the first period. That goal marked Helenius's first of the season. The Kings maintained the advantage until the second period, when defensive lapses shifted momentum. Joel Armia drew penalties for tripping and interference, creating a power-play opportunity for Chicago.

Connor Bedard set up Roman Kantserov for the equalizer at 16:40 of the second period. Kantserov's goal brought his season total to five. Chicago subsequently killed off a penalty against defenseman Sam Rinzel, who was assessed a high-sticking infraction. The teams entered the third period tied 1-1.

Kaiser broke the deadlock at 7:17 of the third period. He directed a shot through the legs of Anton Forsberg, who stopped 25 shots. This was Kaiser's first goal of the season and his 11th career goal in 187 games. Los Angeles finished a trip in which they went 3-2-0. Captain Drew Doughty and forward Corey Perry sat out the game after playing in a 6-3 win against the New York Rangers the previous night. Chicago played without defenseman Bowen Byram, who has missed five straight games with an upper-body injury.

The Blackhawks' power play produced four goals in 39 chances, a 10.3% conversion rate in 12 games. That figure compares to a 16.9% rate last season, when they ranked 29th in the league. Both teams return to action on Thursday night. The Kings will host the Ottawa Senators, while Chicago travels to face the Detroit Red Wings.
