Sam Fender adjusted the pricing structure for his upcoming stadium tour on Friday, October 24, after public criticism over high admission costs. The 32-year-old musician lowered the price for standing tickets at the Wembley venue in London. He stated on Instagram that the initial figures did not match his original intent for the event.

The initial price list for the Proper Massive tour was released earlier this week. The listing showed a large gap between different standing zones at Wembley. Front standing tickets were priced at 130.75 pounds. Standard standing tickets cost 98.85 pounds. Seated options ranged from 64.75 pounds to 130.75 pounds. Many fans viewed this spread as excessive for a pop rock show.

Gavin Davis, an Instagram user, shared the Wembley details on social media. The post drew widespread attention from followers who questioned the value. Fender replied directly to the post to address the concerns. He described the practice of dividing standing areas into front and back tiers as "bollocks." He confirmed that this specific setup would not be used for his tour.

Fender explained that the prices had been inflated beyond what was necessary to cover staging expenses. He argued that any increase in cost should strictly reflect the actual costs of the production. He said the extra margin should not serve as additional profit for ticketing partners. He expressed confusion over how this tiered system became a standard norm in live music.

The high pricing extended beyond London. Ticket listings for other cities also showed prices exceeding 100 pounds for standing areas. In Newcastle, the highest price reached 112.90 pounds. Cardiff listed top tickets at 119 pounds. Manchester’s top price was 119.60 pounds. Edinburgh had the highest price point in the UK lineup at 120.95 pounds.

General ticket sales for the tour begin on Friday, October 30. A presale opens on Wednesday, October 28, in the morning. The tour will take place across the summer of 2027. Fender will perform at several major stadiums. These include St James’s Park in Newcastle, the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Marley Park in Dublin, Murrayfield in Edinburgh, and the Etihad Stadium in Manchester.

Fender joins a group of artists challenging high live music costs. In August, Swedish pop singer Zara Larsson shared similar sentiments in a TikTok video. She agreed that tickets for her show in Bangkok were very expensive. Larsson expressed a desire to be more involved in the pricing process. She noted that many people wanted to attend her shows but were deterred by the financial barrier.
