The financial markets in the Northeast are closely tracking the recent surge in aerospace stocks. On Monday, October 21, shares of SpaceX (NASDAQ: SPCX) climbed approximately 8 percent in premarket trading. This movement followed the company’s release of third quarter 2026 financial results on Friday evening, which significantly exceeded investor expectations.

SpaceX reported total revenue of $14.6 billion for the quarter. This figure represents a 161 percent year-over-year increase and comfortably surpassed the consensus estimate of $12.7 billion. The company also transitioned from a net loss to a net profit of $4.4 billion, while its adjusted EBITDA reached $8.8 billion. The Super Intelligence division emerged as the primary revenue driver, generating $7.6 billion through a nearly 830 percent growth rate. The Connectivity segment contributed $5.2 billion, driven by a consumer base that expanded to 13.6 million Starlink subscribers.

During the subsequent earnings call, CEO Elon Musk and CFO Bret Johnsen provided detailed outlooks for the coming year. They outlined first quarter 2027 revenue guidance of $33 billion to $37 billion, a figure far above the $22 billion projected by analysts. Management also disclosed fourth quarter capital expenditure plans of $35 billion to $40 billion. These funds are designated for AI compute infrastructure at locations including Memphis and Southaven. The company aims to achieve 2.5 to 3 gigawatts of nameplate capacity by year end, with pathways discussed to reach 13 gigawatts or more by the end of 2027. Musk noted that demand from hyperscalers remains intense, with compute pricing supporting payback periods as short as six months.

In reaction to these disclosures, a wave of Wall Street analysts adjusted their price targets upward. JPMorgan more than doubled its target to $500 from $240, maintaining an Overweight rating. Cantor Fitzgerald raised its estimate to $345 from $246, while Barclays increased its target to $300 from $254. Citi, UBS, and TD Cowen also lifted their recommendations to $240, $230, and $224 respectively. Morgan Stanley retained an Overweight rating with a $300 target. Other firms, including Wells Fargo and Clear Street, adjusted their views to $274 and $248. Analysts generally cited the strong quarterly performance, the expansion of AI compute capabilities, and progress in Starlink and Starship programs as the primary drivers for these higher valuations.

The company also highlighted several strategic developments during the call. These included the recent orbital success of the Starship vehicle and the deployment of V3 satellites. Management discussed the rapid adoption of the Grok Bot and plans for spectrum expansion. Furthermore, the formation of special committees to explore a potential combination with Tesla was noted as a significant corporate development.

Investors are now focused on how SpaceX will execute its aggressive spending plans while maintaining its growth trajectory. The average analyst price target has moved higher, reflecting increased confidence in the company’s long-term earnings power. While elevated spending remains a point of discussion, the consensus view is that the strong fundamentals in launch, connectivity, and artificial intelligence will support sustained performance. The market will continue to monitor the company’s progress in scaling its compute infrastructure and expanding its global subscriber base in the coming months.
