DADA, an artist-owned music and art space located at 60-47 Myrtle Avenue in Ridgewood, will host a live electronic music event titled Night of the Living Sound on Saturday, October 31. The venue will open its doors at 9:30 p.m., with performances beginning at 10 p.m. Dinner and drinks will be available to attendees throughout the evening.

The lineup includes four live electronic artists who will perform experimental and ambient sets. The roster features PYRON, who utilizes layered vocals and analog synthesizers to create immersive soundscapes. Omar and Khorshid will perform a blend of Arabic psychedelia and experimental electronics. Tim O’Keefe will present cinematic sound and audio art. The final act is DeWinter, a group led by three-time Grammy-winning producer and engineer Jeremy Loucas.

This event coincides with the city’s fifth annual Trick-or-Streets initiative, which designates over 180 streets and plazas as pedestrian-friendly zones for Halloween events through October 31. The city has distributed 75,000 pieces of candy to organizers participating in these neighborhood celebrations. DADA is part of this local activity, as the venue traditionally hands out 450 pieces of healthy candy to children who visit the shop on Halloween day.

DADA co-owner Neda Zahraie stated that the venue expects a higher number of young trick-or-treaters this year. The venue will also host a Family Halloween Dance Party from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, featuring a seasonal pasta dish and a rock and roll-inspired playlist. Zahraie noted that the after-dark event aims to provide an accessible option for New Yorkers who wish to celebrate without high ticket costs.

Jenn Pyron, performing as PYRON, was first invited to DADA last year through Harrison Adams’ Environs series. She met Zahraie during a September performance and was subsequently invited to join the Halloween lineup. Pyron described the venue as a supportive community for artists to connect in person and share new ideas. Tickets for the event are available through Eventbrite.

The event is designed for all audiences, with Zahraie inviting guests to attend regardless of their costume choices. The focus is on connecting through live sound in a local setting. The venue will remain open for the duration of the show, offering a dedicated space for the performances scheduled for the night.
