Jennifer Lawrence: I Came Down Hard After Unapproved Crew Joined My Nude Scene
The actress detailed her reaction to uninvited guests on set and discussed her experiences with nudity in 'Die My Love.'

Jennifer Lawrence revealed that she confronted a film crew after discovering unapproved individuals present during one of her nude scenes. She described the incident during an appearance on the 'Call Her Daddy' podcast. Lawrence stated that the moment taught her why speaking up matters in the industry.
The actress explained that her reaction was driven by principle. She questioned what happens to an 18-year-old unknown actor who finds similar people in the room. That young performer would have to choose between speaking up and risking a reputation for being difficult, or allowing uncomfortable viewers to see her naked. Lawrence said she made it a point to explain to the crew why the situation was unacceptable.
She noted that flexibility is part of the job. Lawrence cited director Lynne Ramsay asking her to cut her hair, add mullet bangs, and dye it platinum blonde for 'Die My Love.' She described those requests as the nature of the work. However, she added that she speaks up more now because she understands her position in the industry.
Lawrence previously discussed her nude scenes in 'Die My Love,' a film starring opposite Robert Pattinson. On the 'Las Culturistas' podcast, she said she felt very safe with Pattinson. She described him as not being 'pervy' and noted that he is deeply in love with his partner, Suki Waterhouse. The two mostly talked about their children and relationships while on set.
The actress said she would have wanted an intimacy coordinator if there had been awkwardness regarding whether Pattinson thought she liked him. She observed that many male actors take offense if a woman does not want to sleep with them. She said a kind of punishment often follows in those situations. Pattinson, she said, was not like that.
Lawrence stated that she does not care about nudity and is not sensitive about it. She wanted Ramsay to have total artistic freedom. Being pregnant removed much of her vanity anxiety, she said. Before 'No Hard Feelings,' she recalled dieting, avoiding carbs, and working out. While making 'Die My Love,' she was pregnant and working 15 hours a day.
She recalled being sent a close-up image showing cellulite and being asked if the team should touch it up. Her answer was no. She said, 'That's an ass.'
