Proton has introduced its deepest discount of 2026, reducing the monthly cost of its VPN Plus plan from $9.99 to $2.49. The promotion is available from October 26 through December 1 and covers a 24-month subscription period.
The company stated the offer is exclusive to readers of The Hollywood Reporter. During this window, subscribers can access the Plus tier for 75 percent off the standard rate. Alternatively, the Proton Unlimited package is available at a 50 percent discount for 12 months, dropping the price from $12.99 to $6.49 per month.
The VPN Plus plan provides access to more than 20,000 servers located in over 140 countries. This infrastructure allows users to stream international television and movies that are not otherwise available in the United States. The service also blocks advertisements, trackers, and malware while securing up to 10 devices simultaneously.
The more expensive Unlimited tier includes all features of the Plus plan. It adds Proton Mail for encrypted communication, Proton Pass for password management, and Proton Drive for cloud storage. Users also receive Proton Docs and Sheets for collaborative editing, along with 500 GB of cloud storage space.
Proton positioned the sale against the backdrop of upcoming international programming, including the second season of Celebrity Traitors UK and the return of the British crime drama Shetland in November. The company noted that many high-profile sporting events and television premieres are airing outside the U.S., increasing the utility of virtual private networks for domestic viewers.
