The final weekend of the Class 6A regular season delivered decisive results that will shape the playoff bracket for weeks to come. As the 2026 campaign concluded on Friday night, several East Metro programs secured critical positions through high-impact performances and dramatic finishes. The outcome of these games now dictates the seeding landscape for the November postseason, with specific statistical milestones determining which teams hold home field advantage or favorable matchups.

The data from Friday night highlights the disparity in offensive output across the division. Roseville finished the regular season with a 4-4 record, their best mark since 2017, after defeating Coon Rapids 24-14 to claim the Metro Maroon subdistrict title. Senior quarterback Chase Browning accounted for the bulk of the offense with 162 passing yards and three touchdowns. In a separate contest, Centennial dominated Anoka 38-6, a score that likely locks in a No. 3 seed for the Cougars. That defensive performance was notable as Anoka was held to single-digit scoring for the first time this season.

Other key figures emerged in the race for subdistrict control. Mounds View secured the Metro East title with a 22-16 victory over White Bear Lake. The game turned on specific statistical efficiency in the final minutes. Quarterback Tanner Jude scored on a one-yard run with 65 seconds remaining, and a successful two-point conversion extended the lead by six points. The defensive line held White Bear Lake quarterback Wyatt Stachowiak to just six completions on 24 attempts. Preston Johnson added an interception on the final possession to close out the game.

Individual statistical milestones also played a significant role in determining playoff positioning. Forest Lake running back Mack Jurkovich recorded 245 rushing yards and two touchdowns in a 31-13 win over Stillwater. This performance locked in a No. 2 seed for the Rangers and brought his season total to 1,600 rushing yards. Jurkovich has committed to play for St. Thomas. Meanwhile, Park junior receiver Manny Vargas contributed to an 18-10 victory over Eastview by scoring twice, including a 75-yard punt return for a touchdown.

The stakes for the upcoming playoffs were further clarified by results in the south metro. Lakeville South executed a 36-yard field goal with one second remaining to secure a 17-14 upset of Rosemount. Sophomore kicker Dylan Nelson made the kick, a result that complicates the seeding picture for the region. East Ridge also closed the season with a 42-31 win over Woodbury, with Logan Tretter rushing for two scores and Elias Mather returning an interception for a late touchdown.

These results finalize the regular season standings and set the stage for the postseason. The combination of subdistrict titles, seeding locks, and individual statistical achievements provides a clear roadmap for the teams advancing in November. The focus now shifts to how these regular season metrics translate into playoff success.
